Documents needed
- Certified colour copy of the passport of every director, shareholder and beneficial owner
- Police clearance of each owner's country of residence, issued within the last 6 months
- A recent bank statement of each owner (source of funds)
- Proof of each owner's home address from the last 6 months (utility, bank or phone bill)
- The company's business plan
Trade name (company name) — the rules of Vanuatu law
- It must end with a word that shows it is a company: Limited (Ltd), Corporation (Corp), Incorporated, GmbH, SARL, B.V. or Sdn Bhd — or a word of the same meaning in another language that the registered agent shows the Commission.
- It may not be the same as, or confusingly like, the name of a company registered in Vanuatu now or in the last 20 years.
- It may not suggest any connection with the Government of Vanuatu, a ministry, a statutory body or a municipal authority, nor be otherwise undesirable in the Commission's view.
- It may use the letters and numerals of any language; a name not in Roman letters needs a certified English or French translation and the Commission's approval first.
- A name can be reserved for six months, and the reservation renewed.
- An international company does not trade inside Vanuatu or own land there; banking, insurance and trust business need their own licence.
Open to every nationality: you do not need to be a citizen of Vanuatu.
